-So to keep myself from posting too much about ‘The Things They Carried’ I looked up postmodern videos and found this song and thought that it might be comical to some. I realize that we said that there wasn’t an exact definition of postmodern things, but it seems to me through searches that postmodern is a lot of sarcasm and irony and personally I’d hate to see that end! This video has some things that seem completely random but then some others that are quite funny. This ‘band’ has many videos on youtube.com but I thought this was just too funny to pass up.
I think this may have been the best music video I have ever watched! As I was watching it, I was thinking to myself that Postmodernism in song form had to be the best thing ever. It shows what Postmodernism is all about without trying to define it. The artist seems to be telling the audience what it means to him. It has no real flow or form; and no visible message until the end when you are told they want a particular person to buy a smock. If subliminally telling someone to buy a smock through art is not Postmodern, I do not know what is.
